The Idalia Wolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on St. Francis with a sharp 56-32 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Idalia has managed all season.
Idalia found their leader in underclassman Ailyn Monarrez, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monarrez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaylyn Kechter, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Idalia's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for St. Francis, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Idalia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hi-Plains at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Hi-Plains focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 back in December of 2023. As for St. Francis, they will head out on the road to face off against Weskan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Weskan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
