Apple Valley hasn't had much luck against Eastview recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Lightning at 4:30 p.m. Apple Valley has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Apple Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Farmington on Thursday. They lost 12-1 to the Tigers.
Apple Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keura Roloff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Eastview won against Lakeville North on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Lightning beat Hastings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. Considering the Lightning have won three matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Elise Dormody made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Dormody was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Eastview got a massive performance out of Molly Brown, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Ellie Kortas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Eastview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive games.
Eastview now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Apple Valley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Apple Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Eastview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Apple Valley might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Eastview in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
