The Timpview Thunderbirds had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They slipped by Cedar Valley 43-42. That's another feather in the cap for Timpview, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lina Ballin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Aiaiaga Galea'i was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Timpview's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Cedar Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timpview will take on Salem Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Maple Mountain at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Maple Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
