Lane scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Newtown Pioneers by a score of 17-16. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lane's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Newtown, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lane has already played their next contest (against Bayside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Newtown, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Flushing at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
