Basketball Recap: Grovemont Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fayetteville O

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grovemont). They took down the Fayetteville O Outliers 73-55 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Paul Seidel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. David Lyon was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Grovemont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayetteville O only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Several Outliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Harris, who posted 21 points. Harris' afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Williams, who had 13 points and three steals.

Grovemont's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Fayetteville O, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Grovemont has already played their next contest (against Goldsboro HomeSchool), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fayetteville O didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 77-44 defeat against Chatham HomeSchool on the 17th.
