The Nixa Eagles will square off against the Rockhurst Hawklets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nixa will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
With a playoff game on the line, Nixa rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 56-34 margin over Joplin. The result was nothing new for Nixa, who have now won seven contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Nixa relied on the efforts of Malachi Rider, who rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns, and Dylan Rebura, who gained 198 total yards and three touchdowns. Rider hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Uber, who threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Rockhurst faced Lee's Summit North in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Rockhurst came out on top in a nail-biter against Lee's Summit North on Friday and snuck past 24-21. The win was familiar territory for Rockhurst who now have seven in a row.
Rockhurst's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Hansen, who threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Aidan Ryan was in the mix too, providing Rockhurst with two touchdowns.
Nixa's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Rockhurst, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
