Freedom had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Central Cabarrus Vikings 40-6. Considering the Patriots have won eight matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaden Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 46 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Kobe Johnson was Davis' top target, picking up 62 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 64 yards.
The win (which was Freedom's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.4 points on average over those games. As for Central Cabarrus, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.
Looking ahead, Freedom will welcome Sun Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them. Central Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
