Hammond Morton meant business on Thursday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Patriots squad that has allowed just 28.64 points per contest. The Hammond Morton Governors took their match with ease, bagging an 85-40 win over the Calumet Christian Patriots. The Governors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Hammond Morton to victory were Kylah KP Patterson and Chanteze Holland. Patterson dropped a double-double on 38 points and 16 rebounds, while Holland dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Patterson has scored at least a third of Hammond Morton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymora Baker, who posted seven points and 15 boards.

Hammond Morton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Calumet Christian had strong showings from Anna Prim, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, and Makenna Landkrohn, who went 6 for 8 on her way to 15 points. That was a full 37.5% of Calumet Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Hammond Morton's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Calumet Christian, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2.

Hammond Morton and Calumet Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Hammond Morton will square off against East Chicago Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 194 places (74 vs. 268). Hammond Morton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.4 points per game this season. Similarly, Calumet Christian (ranked 131st) will meet Granger Christian (ranked 281st) at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
