The Perry Panthers lost against the GlenOak Golden Eagles back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Perry fell 61-51 to GlenOak. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Perry in their matchups with GlenOak: they've now lost five in a row.
Perry's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Wolf, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Wolf's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Martelli, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Perry were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for GlenOak, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry will stay at home for another game and welcome Canton Central Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th. GlenOak will take on McKinley at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
