Leading Monte Vista Christian to victory were Nico Downie and Bryce Brogan. Downie scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals, while Brogan went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 1 assists. Downie is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Ryan, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
King City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Monte Vista Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King City will take on North Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Salinas is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Monte Vista Christian, they will be playing at home against Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Gonzales' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
