The Clinton Central Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Clinton Prairie, falling 73-43. While losing is never fun, Clinton Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Clinton Prairie is ranked 109th).
Clinton Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Creed Mennen, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mennen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Davis, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Clinton Central dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Clinton Prairie, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Clinton Central will head out on the road to challenge Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clinton Prairie, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Western at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Western focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Saturday.
