Basketball Game Preview: Beloit Trojans vs. Ellsworth Bearcats

Beloit has gone 8-2 against Ellsworth recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Beloit Trojans will be home for the holidays to greet the Ellsworth Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. Ellsworth took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Beloit, who comes in off a win.

Beloit took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 50-29 margin over Republic County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Trojans have posted since January 30th.

Beloit got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Budke out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 boards. With that strong performance, Budke is now averaging an impressive 10.5 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wright, who posted 14 points.

Beloit smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ellsworth faced off against Minneapolis on Tuesday. Ellsworth fell 48-35 to Minneapolis. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

The victory got Beloit back to even at 2-2. As for Ellsworth, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Beloit was able to grind out a solid win over Ellsworth in their previous matchup back in February, winning 43-31. Will Beloit repeat their success, or does Ellsworth have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
