Lynchburg-Clay stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They put the hurt on McClain with a sharp 62-36 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lynchburg-Clay has posted since December 11, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lynchburg-Clay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jade Massey, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Massey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Addison West was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Whiteoak's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-36 loss at the hands of North Adams. While losing is never fun, Whiteoak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while North Adams is ranked 128th).
Lynchburg-Clay is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Whiteoak, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Everything went Lynchburg-Clay's way against Whiteoak when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as Lynchburg-Clay made off with a 70-44 victory. With Lynchburg-Clay ahead 44-24 at the half, the game was all but over already.
