The Webutuck Warriors pushed their score all the way to 69 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 87-69 bruising from Dover. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (61), Webutuck still had to take the loss.
Leading Dover to victory were Caden Green and Justin Cardwell. Green scored 30 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, while Cardwell dropped a double-double on 29 points and 24 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Green has scored at least 25% of Dover's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shazell Bush, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Webutuck and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Dover, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Webutuck will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Mount Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. Dover will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rhinebeck at 5:45 p.m. on December 12th.
