The Grosse Pointe North Norsemen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fitzgerald Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-7, which was the final score in Grosse Pointe North's tilt against Grosse Pointe South on Friday. While losing is never fun, Grosse Pointe North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Grosse Pointe South is ranked 29th).
Even if they lost, Grosse Pointe North's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Brady Beers and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Fitzgerald took a serious blow against Avondale on Friday, falling 50-20. Fitzgerald has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Grosse Pointe North to 6-3 and Fitzgerald to 4-5.
Grosse Pointe North might still be hurting after the 34-14 defeat they got from Fitzgerald in their previous meeting on October 7th. Will Grosse Pointe North have more luck at home instead of on the road?
