It was a good run, but The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 17-16 to Westfield School. St. Anne-Pacelli was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westfield School apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
St. Anne-Pacelli's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Cor'vee James, who rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown. James is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Westfield School found their leader in underclassman Jackson Hair, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown.
St. Anne-Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Westfield School, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5.
St. Anne-Pacelli will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Brookstone at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Brookstone knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully St. Anne-Pacelli likes a good challenge. As for Westfield School, they will face off against George Walton Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. George Walton Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
