The Wilmington Hurricane suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-44 walloping at the hands of Goshen. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wilmington in their matchups with Goshen: they've now lost eight in a row.
Goshen was led to victory by Bray Settelmayer and Caden Zeinner. Settelmayer scored 20 points along with three steals, while Zeinner scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Settelmayer scored 15 or more points. Conner Moore was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Wilmington has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Goshen, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilmington will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Batavia at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Batavia's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Goshen, they will head out on the road to challenge New Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully New Richmond focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
