After a string of five wins, the Sheldon Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Exeter 36-30. Sheldon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Exeter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Sheldon saw an underclassman step up: Aiden Bogart dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds. Bogart has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Ellifrits, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Exeter, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against School of the Ozarks at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Sheldon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Exeter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson Independent Day at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
