Basketball Recap: Milton Skates Past Tate with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, Milton rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Tate Aggies, posting a 70-36 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Treymar Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Sergio Robinson was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Milton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Milton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Tate, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oviedo will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Milton surely won't give up without a fight. Tate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
