The National Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully National Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday.
National Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Springdale Prep but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Lions 63-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Malachai Sharpe, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Terrence Mcbride, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Riverdale Baptist ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Rock Creek Christian Academy by a score of 62-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
National Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Riverdale Baptist, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-14.
National Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Riverdale Baptist when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 71-52. Can National Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
