Oakdale is 2-8 against Greenback since March of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will take on the Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. Oakdale is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Oakdale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Rockwood 16-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.

Rhylan Hicks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hadassah Cooney was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Landry Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Oakdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Greenback posted their closest victory since May 7, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Harriman 17-16.
Greenback got a massive performance out of Elizabeth Davis, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Emma Anderson, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.
Oakdale pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Greenback, their record is now 4-6.
Greenback's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Oakdale has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Greenback, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Oakdale's sizable advantage in that area, the Cherokees will need to find a way to close that gap.
Oakdale skirted past Greenback 7-6 when the teams last played last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
