Meanwhile, Westminster Catawba Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Concord Academy on Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-21 in the first set.
Westminster Catawba Christian actually scored more points across those five sets (102-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-25, 15-12.
Westminster Catawba Christian now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Hickory Grove Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
