Leigh hadn't done well against Pioneer recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-2 win. Considering the Longhorns have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Audrina Moyle and Reagyn Hider were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Moyle pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Hider pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Moyle went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Hider got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double.
In other batting news, Mia Hinojosa was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Prestley Mueller was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Leigh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only posted a batting average of .188.
