The Bridges Prep Buccaneers suffered their biggest loss since November 20, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 49-17 defeat at the hands of Bethune-Bowman. Bridges Prep has not had much luck with Bethune-Bowman recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Bethune-Bowman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaniyah Pelzer out in front who scored 11 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiyah Johnson, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Bridges Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Bethune-Bowman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridges Prep will challenge Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bamberg-Ehrhardt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Bridges Prep likes a good challenge. As for Bethune-Bowman, they will head out on the road to square off against Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Whale Branch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Wednesday.
