Even though the Fulton Hornets scored an imposing 60 points on Thursday, the Marshall Owls still came out on top. Marshall took their   match against Fulton   68-60. For Marshall, this counts as revenge for the   61-57 loss Fulton walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in December of 2023.
 Marshall's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Chase Thompson, who  scored 17 points along with four  steals. Thompson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Deacon Arends, who  scored ten points along with nine  assists and two  steals.
 Marshall's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Fulton, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost ten of their last 11 matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
 Marshall will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Linn at 1:30  p.m.  on January 27th. One thing working in Linn's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last four games. As for Fulton, they won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against Fayette on January 26th. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Fayette and three for Fulton.
