It was a good run, but The Norton Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Buckeye by a score of 49-47. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (40), Norton still had to take the loss.
Norton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Willig, who picked up 250 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Lucas Dobbins, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.
Norton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-1. As for Buckeye, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Norton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Buckeye will head out on the road to face off against Columbian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
