Center Grove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubrie Booker led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Rachel Wirts, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bloomington South strolled past Martinsville with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 52-37. Given Bloomington South's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Martinsville is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 9-1.
Center Grove strolled past Bloomington South in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 54-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Center Grove since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
