Longmont and Silver Creek are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Longmont Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Silver Creek Raptors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Silver Creek took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Longmont, who comes in off a win.
Longmont came into Friday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Greeley West 60-23 at home. Longmont has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
Savannah Pohl continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Pears, who scored eight points along with six steals.
While Silver Creek couldn't quite beat Greeley Central on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 23-point defeat they were dealt on Wednesday. Silver Creek fell just short of Greeley Central by a score of 46-43. Silver Creek's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Longmont now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Silver Creek, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.
Longmont came up short against Silver Creek in their previous matchup back in January, falling 50-39. Can Longmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
