Skylar Young was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Allison Townley was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Pafford, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
North Florida Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wakulla Christian School had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Baby Rattlers 16-1. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Alexah Brown, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Hurst, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
The win was the sixth in a row for Wakulla Christian School, bringing their record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Florida Christian, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything went North Florida Christian's way against Wakulla Christian School in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as North Florida Christian made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
