Winston County came tearing into  Thursday's  contest with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Tharptown Wildcats with  points to spare, taking the game  51-35. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage  in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings  (they are ranked 175th, while the Wildcats are ranked 419th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winston County to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Lynleigh Cobb, who  dropped  a double-double on 13  points and 15  boards. As for Tharptown, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the  defeat, which was their 16th straight  at home dating back to last season.
