Softball Recap: Stanley Comes Up Short

Stanley suffered their biggest loss since March 21st on Friday. They lost 19-2 to the Calvary Baptist Academy Cavaliers. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cavaliers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Lexi Greene put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Greene is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Baleigh Landry and Kadey Duhon stepped up to the plate in a big way. Landry scored a run while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances, while Duhon scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Landry also put up three RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cheyanne Breaux, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Stanley's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, the win keeps they at an undefeated 29-0.

Looking ahead, Stanley will challenge Lakeside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, they will face off against Alexandria at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
