The McDowell Titans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They managed a 54-49 victory over A.C. Reynolds. For McDowell, this counts as revenge for the 58-51 loss the Rockets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Rylan Parkins, who scored 20 points. Roby Franklin was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grant Clayton, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six blocks. Clayton is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Declan Brown, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
McDowell's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for A.C. Reynolds, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDowell will take on the Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. T.C. Roberson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season. As for A.C. Reynolds, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Black Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in North Buncombe's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
