The Booker T. Washington Wildcats are still undefeated this season after their matchup against the Pine Forest Eagles on Tuesday, but the Pine Forest Eagles came as close as anyone has to beating them. Booker T. Washington skirted past Pine Forest 32-29. Given Booker T. Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Pine Forest is ranked 399th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gally Rich was his usual excellent self, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Maurice Smith and Micah Franklin certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Smith scored seven points along with six steals, while Franklin scored nine points. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.
Booker T. Washington's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Pine Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Booker T. Washington will take on Tate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pine Forest, they will be playing at home against Pensacola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pensacola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
