Basketball Recap: Andrew Pandol's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Atlantic over Royal Palm Beach

Atlantic lost against Royal Palm Beach back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Atlantic Eagles fell just short of the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats by a score of 69-66. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Atlantic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Pandol, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. That's the most points Pandol has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of James Tillman, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points.

K'Nard Callendar was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 14 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven blocks and five boards for Royal Palm Beach. Callendar is crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Gio Vasquez also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Atlantic's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Royal Palm Beach, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Atlantic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-59 loss against Park Vista on the 24th. As for Royal Palm Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-31 win against Palm Beach Central on the 24th.
