The Kermit Yellow Jackets can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 51-12 win over Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy at home. That looming 51-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kermit yet this season.
Kermit was led to victory by Leylani Quiroz and MICHAELA CAZARIN. Quiroz scored 12 points along with three steals, while CAZARIN scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Ebbin Mallory was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Kermit's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Kermit will head out on the road to face off against Compass Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy and Midland Christian will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Midland Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
