The Georgetown Bulldogs lost against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks back in December of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Georgetown might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Myrtle Beach an easy 51-26 victory. Georgetown has not had much luck with Myrtle Beach recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Ean Mitchell scored four points along with three steals.
Georgetown has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Myrtle Beach, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown will take on Hemingway at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Hemingway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Myrtle Beach, they will head out on the road to face off against Carolina Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Carolina Forest is ranked 181st, while Myrtle Beach is ranked 190th).
