East Henderson hasn't had much luck against Pisgah recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Bears at 6:00 p.m. East Henderson has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Chase hit East Henderson with a eight-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Trojans, falling 13-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
East Henderson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shelby McCall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, Pisgah was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Tuscola with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Bears have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sadie Messer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mack Jones was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Markos, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Pisgah is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for East Henderson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. East Henderson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pisgah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
East Henderson might still be hurting after the 21-0 defeat they got from Pisgah in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
