After losing to the Franklin County Bulldogs the last time they met, the South Pike Eagles decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. South Pike skirted past the Bulldogs 41-38.
Lavell Thompson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games.
South Pike's victory bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Franklin County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Pike will challenge the Blue Waves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Port Gibson will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Franklin County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 793 points over their last 11 matches.
