Larkin is 0-10 against Glenbard East since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Royals will face off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Larkin has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bartlett hit Larkin with a seven-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Royals came up short against the Hawks, falling 12-1.
Larkin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aden Mora, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Ari Dejournette also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Glenbard East got themselves on the board against Elmwood Park on Tuesday, but Elmwood Park never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Tigers. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Josh Ziemer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Glenbard East got a big performance out of Tyler Hampton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carson Pignato, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Glenbard East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Glenbard East has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Larkin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Larkin suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Glenbard East in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
