Meanwhile, Burkburnett was beaten by Springtown 70-14 on Friday. Burkburnett was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Despite the defeat, Burkburnett saw an underclassman step up: Robert Ingram rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown. Ingram really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run. Elijah Maldonado got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Mineral Wells' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. As for Burkburnett, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Mineral Wells suffered a grim 33-8 defeat to Burkburnett in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Mineral Wells, Hunter Mccall (who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
