Softball Recap: Nolan Catholic Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Nolan Catholic had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Greenhill Hornets on Friday as they made off with a 15-9 win. The Vikings not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 10th (when they won 16-1).

Eva Hons was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Mattox, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Nolan Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenhill only posted an OBP of .432.

Nolan Catholic picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-12.

Coming up, Nolan Catholic will host DasCHE at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenhill, they will head out on the road to square off against Parish Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
