After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gila Ridge, Yuma was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Tempe Buffaloes as they made off with a 12-6 win. The Criminals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Monika Ordaz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits. Ordaz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Derryel Medel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Elia Palencia was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs and two doubles.

Yuma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Yuma's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-6. As for Tempe, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 15-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Buffaloes beat Yuma by a score of 13-11 on Wednesday.
