Even though East Carteret scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, Pamlico County still came out on top. Pamlico County took down the Mariners 82-65. The score was all tied up 34-34 at the break, but Pamlico County was the better team in the second half.
Pamlico County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Koby Lane led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lane has scored all season. Braylen Ollison was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jones' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 70-49 walloping at the hands of Northside - Pinetown.
Pamlico County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Jones, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Everything came up roses for Pamlico County against the Trojans when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 84-40 victory. With Pamlico County ahead 48-20 at the half, the game was all but over already.
