Sadly, the Continental Pirates are still looking for their first win of the season after 17 matches. They suffered a rough 45-23 defeat at the hands of Pandora-Gilboa on Saturday. Continental was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pandora-Gilboa apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Kenzie Shock was Continental's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Olivia Crossgrove held things down on the boards with 19 rebounds.
Continental's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.2 points per game. As for Pandora-Gilboa, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Continental will take on Paulding at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Continental comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they will be playing at home against Cardinal Stritch at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pandora-Gilboa is facing Cardinal Stritch at the right time seeing as Cardinal Stritch is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
