Great Falls is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Russell.
Elliana Frank led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Isabella Saunders, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Belgrade waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Falcons.
Olivia Mills made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Rylee Feight was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Brooke Stump also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Belgrade's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Great Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Great Falls hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Belgrade struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
