Bristol Central is 0-3 against the Blue Knights since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bristol Central Rams will be staying on the road to face off against the Southington Blue Knights at 6:45 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Bristol Central is ranked 65th, while the Blue Knights are ranked 44th).
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Bristol Central, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to the Redcoats. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bristol Central has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Southington didn't have too much trouble with the Falcons on the road on Tuesday as they won 46-29. Southington pushed the score to 38-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.
Southington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hannah Blanchard led the charge by scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Roxy Cardillo, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bristol Central now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Southington, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Bristol Central lost to the Blue Knights on the road by a decisive 56-38 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2021. Can Bristol Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
