The Peak to Peak Pumas scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 61-13 victory over The Academy. Peak to Peak has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.
Alexandra Eschmeyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Peak to Peak's points. Another player making a difference was Megan Wagner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, The Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The win makes it two in a row for Peak to Peak and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for The Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Peak to Peak will head out on the road to square off against the Miners at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Prospect Ridge Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Pumas are ranked 49th). As for The Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colorado Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
