The biggest upset of the week belonged to Valdosta, who took down 10th ranked Colquitt County, 38-36.
Lowndes extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 1 this week by beating Tift County, 42-7. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Vikings.
Brice Ramsey and J.j. Green gave Camden County a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Ramsey threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns, while Green ran for 97 yards. Teammate Chris Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 59 yards.
Bobby Hill was the best wideout in the league this week as the Packers lost to the Wildcats. Hill tallied eight receptions for 112 yards. Todd Boyd helped Colquitt County's passing attack out by catching five balls for 104 yards.
Cole Segraves provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Colquitt County fell to Valdosta. He completed 12 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 14 yards.
On the ground, Lowndes' Nick Burgman has rushed for 761 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Hill. The Colquitt County star has 43 catches for 657 yards.
The marquee game in AAAAAA Region 1 this week will be the clash between the Vikings and the Wildcats. Lowndes comes into the matchup ranked fifth in the state, while Camden County ranks first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Vikings and Jeff Herron's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Lowndes comes in having scored 333 this season, while the Wildcats have scored 369. The Vikings scored 42 points last week as they bested the Blue Devils.
