Softball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends North Greene's Winning Streak

North Greene dropped their record down to 12-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Greeneville Greene Devils, falling 12-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskies have suffered since March 22nd.

As for Greeneville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.

For Greeneville's part, Brynlee Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Jones has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten games.

In other batting news, Kaley Garland was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

North Greene has already played their next contest, a 13-1 victory against Cherokee on the 28th. Greeneville has also already played their next match (against West Greene), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
