The Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes struggled with assists on Saturday (the Calvary Day School Cougars had 16 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Ashley Ridge was dealt a 81-41 loss at the hands of Calvary Day School.
Despite the loss, Ashley Ridge still got an impressive performance from Clayton Everett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jordan Davis, who scored five points.
It was another big night for Dane Cassada, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists for Calvary Day School. The matchup was Cassada's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Asher Tolbert was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Ashley Ridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Calvary Day School, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.
Ashley Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaufort at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaufort is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Calvary Day School and Greensboro Day School will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Greensboro Day School presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Calvary Day School in North Carolina (Greensboro Day School is ranked 33rd, while Calvary Day School is ranked 106th).
